Mabee Roger
Physical Security
Status: Nominated

Security Site Supervisor Brandon Partridge and Security Officer Roger Mabee were on duty at the Woodstock Hospital on July 21st when they were notified by staff in the retail Pharmacy that an irate individual had just left the pharmacy. The accused had been aggravated in regards to treatment he felt his mother had been receiving during her visits to the hospital. As the accused became more aggravated, he threatened staff by stating if things didn’t get resolved, he ``Should go get a gun and start shooting”.

After obtaining a description of the accused which was confirmed using Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), S/S Partridge immediately notified Woodstock Police of the incident. As S/S Partridge was on the phone with Woodstock Police dispatch, the accused was seen on camera walking back into the hospital with both of his hands in his pockets. S/G Mabee followed the accused at a safe distance, not knowing if he was in possession of a firearm or not. Woodstock Police arrived on site at moments later and conducted a “High Risk” take down and arrested the accused at gun point.

Partridge and Mabee both acted in a quick and professional manner in ensuring that the appropriate actions were taken, that a suspect was identified and the situation was reported to the Police. Their actions ensured that hospital staff, visitors and patient’s safety were not compromised
